As Pastor Jeff continues in Paul’s letter to the Church in Ephesus we turn to Ephesians 4:1-6.  Here we find the Apostle Paul as a prisoner of the Lord urging(a passionate call, strong encouragement) the saints in Ephesus to walk worthy of the calling they had received to follow Christ as Lord.  The reason for this had everything to do with their CHARACTER, which was to be firmly rooted and established in Christ (3:17) and from this Character they would be drawn together as one in the ONE.

Paul urges the church in Ephesus to make 5 character traits a constant in their calling for every day of their lives and with every step of their faith.

4 Therefore I, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting one another in love, diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit with the peace that binds us.
  1. ALL HUMILITY
  2. GENTLENESS
  3. PATIENCE
  4. ACCEPTING ONE ANOTHER IN LOVE
  5. DILIGENTLY KEEPING THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT WITH THE PEACE THAT BINDS US
By these character traits believers will be drawn together as one in Christ who is one with the Father and the Spirit.

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

In the end, if that is all for which we are known, then may we be satisfied as God, through us, is glorified.
